More on the Ontario Trillium Plan
Posted 5 Mar 2012
I think this delaying of the Tax Refund to the Low Income & Elderly is just a Tax Grab on the poor again. All the people expecting a refund are going to be really upset. This is a sneaky way to hit the poor again! The refund is delayed until July and then 1/12 is paid monthly. I wonder how may millions this will put into the Governments coffers? Where will the low income earners get the few hundred in Taxes Owing to pay. From the 1/12 monthly. I doubt it!
And as an aside. How about the 16- 18+ year olds, that live at home (pay no rent), and received the $ 100. OST credit in prior years. They were future clients. I prepared the Returns for them for very little (usually children of my clients). A lot of them would continue coming here for their Taxes, once they were on their own. Now, when they are on their own, where will they get their Returns prepared. Probably H&R, where most kids go for their early refunds.
I hope that there will be a REAL outcry this year but I doubt it will happen!! -
T4 Problem
Posted 13 Jan 2012
I am preparing T4's. The calculations are correct until I change the CPP pensionable earnings. The CPP is still calculating on the Total wages and not the CPP earnings!
I must override the adjusted amount, but it is time consuming to have to calculate the correct CPP withholdings. I'm paying to have the program do that!
HELP!
