In Topic: Version 4.3 is out
Posted 9 Apr 2012
Hi everyone,
Shortly after R4.3 was release, we became aware of some issues regarding the tape function when the tape became modified or cleared, and we posted a Known Issue here: http://support.intui...-/INF19424.html
We understand how important that feature is to many of our customers, and we deeply regret this inconvenience in the middle of the tax season. We have internally corrected this issue, and are just in the process of finalizing our quality assurance tests (as an fyi, we run a full battery of tests for any code change before we release to our customers to minimize the risk that any corrections do not cause issues with another feature/calculation).
We're hoping to have this correction out to you by Wednesday.
Thanks for your patience.

In Topic: dependent medical and disability deductions

Gerard French, on 21 March 2012 - 10:58 AM, said:On the medical worksheet, I have entered the payments made to a nursing home for a dependent's full time attendant care and used the code 2 limitation. However, both the medical expense and the disability deduction are being claimed on schedule 1.
I understand you can claim one or the other but not both.
Hi Gerard,
We augmented the medical worksheet this year. Selecting code 2 in the "* Subject to limitation" column will allow the taxpayer to claim up to $10,000 of attendant care expenses and the disability tax credit. If you have in excess of $10,000 of attendant care expenses, you will have to make a decision if you want to claim the excess and not claim the disibility tax credit.
The CRA has some examples of this situation here: http://www.cra-arc.g.../xmpls-eng.html
Hope that helps, and sorry I could not respond to you earlier.

Hello everyone,
R4.3 is largely just correcting some E-File and User Interface/Systems issues (such as predictive typing, and printing tapes).

In Topic: T4A changes
Posted 7 Dec 2011
Jana, on 07 December 2011 - 09:22 AM, said:This also relates to new T4A's but not quite the same questions.
Because of the changes, we had some T4A income missed being reported as there arn't boxes for all types of income. There is a "Other income - line 130" box with no box # which, I assume, is where you would report all other income that is taxable. As there is no box number and no other notation (for ex. "enter all other income here"), this has cause a bit of an issue. Also, because the slips now look just like T4 slips BUT on T4 slips, the income amounts reported in the bottom section of the slip are generally already included in the income above, this is also causing a problem (this one isn't intuit's but rather CRA's but still causing an issue).
Has anyone else had this problem? Could this be changed somehow?
Thanks!
Hi Jana,
Thanks for your feedback, and I do understand your concern with how the T4A Slip was presented last year. We have updated the presentation of this slip for 2011 so that you will see all the relevant box numbers instead of having a catch-all "other income - line 130" box.
You should see these changes in an upcoming release.
Thanks,
Peter
