Well, you have me there, once every couple of years I step out of line and realize why I don't often comment on tax issues.

Good luck to you this season, but be extremely careful you don't push the wrong button along the way.

I have made a career out of correcting the errors of 'button pushers' please carry on.

    Easter

NB Why would you ever jeopardize your capital gains exemption by claiming CCA?????

When you are an H & R Block franchise which 'guarantees the best bottom line.'

The pennies saved with CCA are nothing when you have to deal with recaptured CCA AND capital gains when you sell.

I hate when I get a client who was previosuly with H & R Block and 'benefited' from the CCA deduction on their principal residence.

    Dunner,

I wish the number was 50%, it is closer to 15%, audited tested unfortunately. The way around is not to claim any rental income in the year prior to disposition.

Which , of course, means not having rental income that year.

The latest versions of Profile (2011.1.0 and beyond) will NOT allow you to Efile T1013's...

Speaking with Intuit, they recognize the error, and it will be included in a future release... unspecified when...

Have obtained a download location for a old gpsetup file. Note that you must turn off any recent (2011.1.0 and beyond) options file when using this version

access this gmail account to download:

    Account is CindyProfile@gmail.com
    Password is : Waterwater

    Download the file gpsetup.bak.
When downloaded, rename it to gpsetup.exe.

    Rename any Settings folders.

As it happened, I had one machine yet on my network that I had not yet updated. Had to turn off the options file by physically disconnecting that machine from the network, as otherwise it automatically tried to load the options file.

Only generic google email and no download for gpsetup.exe. :(

Because Intuit has removed the TurboTax forum and replaced it with the Online Community, I suspect that we will see a number of TurboTax questions in this forum.

As an answer to the OP, I would suggest that a per km allowance is an accounting issue and UCC/CCA is a tax issue. The two are not connected. The Income Tax Act does not allow you to claim a per km deduction on the Canadian Income Tax Return.

Now, if you were talking the 1040 (US Tax Return), that is an entirely separate matter and I would suggest that you need to refer to the TurboTax US forums instead. Here is a link to the US forums: http://turbotax.intuit.com/

There is, however, an opportunity to calculate the cost of business use kms when total vehicle costs are available.

correct, but it needs to be done now...can anyone out there supply a link to waht a sample corporation minute book looks like for a small ontario corporation?

If you want to try DIY, try Staples: http://www.staples.c...d=incorporation

They often have a number of self help books in the store (though they seem to be out of stock online for the Ontario one.)
