In Topic: Printing 2011 T4's
Posted 3 Feb 2012
Yes, the pre-printed 2011 T4 flats are different than 2010........ presumably to accommodate things such as the new box 87 description on the reverse side. The summaries are no different, however, they are now Black & White instead of pink and white.
The T4's and summaries seem to line up very well now that I have installed Postscript drivers for my HP4250. For me, the 2011 version of Profile would no longer print corporate T2 returns with the PCL6 drivers so I had to install the HP4250 again as a postscript printer. A little painful...... but that is the price you pay for using cheap software. :) -
In Topic: CPP & EI Exempt reporting change
Posted 3 Feb 2012
Hi Vivian,
I am experiencing the same, that Profile is not displaying the "zeros" in boxes 24 and 26 of the printed T4 slips as now prescribed by the RC4120 guide. These reporting changes apply to the 2011 T4 slips and can be found on page 3 and further detailed on page 11 of the RC4120 which now specifies that "box 24 and box 26 MUST always be completed".
If you are using Profile to build and Netfile the T4 slips you might be relieved to discover these amounts do get reported properly in the netfiled XML transmission.

Of course, if you include the gain on something like line 8210 of S125 Profile calculates the Schedule 1 adjustment for you. :) -
In Topic: Problems with 2011 version
Posted 25 Jan 2012
Fresh install of Profile on a brand new system.......... yields better results, however, no where near perfect.
I get this error intermittently while attempting to carry forward some individual T1 returns (Classic Database).
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Quick search on the web leans towards this being a programming code error......... "the program is trying to access a member of a reference type variable which is set to null".
3 Most common Causes of this error:
- Not declaring variables
- Bad Scoping
- Bad Inits/constructs
It seems Simply Accounting has some of these same problems with their coding too.
