It seems that you are not a Profile user, so you probably want the Turbotax forums, where the consumer tax section is. (You will get various software assistance there and tax comments from members of the public of varying quality).
Or you may consider consulting a Professional Accountant for tax assistance. Or, also, in addition to calling CRA, I believe that Intuit has a number that you can call for Turbotax users.
Those Turbotax forums have now been established at https://turbotax.com...botaxonline.ca/

I thought you were a professional accountant for tax assistance. Wow didn't realize that it was this difficult to get a simple answer. FYI I am a Profile user! Thanks for your non help!

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but I have never heard of a Professional Tax Accountant who asks "Section 122.3 of what?" since the Public Practice Review process would normally check that practitioners had up to date copies of required source material on hand, so I gave you the reference so that you could easily find it in your current copy and review.

In general, if you are talking within a Canadian tax forum about a Section, we tend to refer to Sections of the Canadian Income Tax Act. JoanTax can be brisk at time and I admittedly am a little frustrated that there is an assumption that everyone knows what a Public Practice Review. I know but I am also aware that a number of people on this forum don't.
However, I am surprised that you did not look at the Income Tax Guide which provides a reference to IT-497 which explains this very well. Here is a link to the IT http://www.cra-arc.g.../it497r4-e.html
If you read this and are not sure, perhaps you can come back with a specific question about the area which you are not familiar with... If you run through form T626 on Profile, you will find that the form leads you to the questions you need to figure out.

I have already read all the articles on the OETC, I am quit aware of the cra website and I have familiarized myself with the T626 of Profile, however I only simply asked if the this pertained to border city Country such as the United States since there is no Ocean that divides us. Again this was a simple question that I obviously can't get a straight answer for!!

And the answer how this Credit works is to be found at Section 122.3 as first explained in the very first post.
Also see R3400 and R6000
If you are a tax accountant, please see those sections. If you are not a tax accountant, please see those sections.
Guides, forms, and websites normally speak in very imprecise terms, which as you know can often be misleading and sometimes outright wrong. The references in the above sentence will give you the real deal, which can then be applied to the facts of the case at hand for your client.
Sometimes clients need to be referred to colleagues - perhaps this client is one of those cases.
Do you have many clients with similar issues?
I am a bit surprised that any tax accountant would use the word "simple" with regards to tax, though. Nothing in tax is ever "simple".
Sorry for my perceived "brisk-ness".

Note that even when you do get that "outside Canada" bit, there is more to it...
It seems fairly clear to me that this file should be referred to an Accountant.

That is all I wanted to clarify, because when it says "Overseas" it's confusing. We do have clients Overseas and new clients working in the United States. There was no need to carry on as such. It really makes it not wanting to deal with Profile. I thought we were here as a community to help each other out not to ridicule. I don't need anymore feedback, I have heard enough. Sorry to have bothered you with such nonsense. Have a good day

I definitely do not mean to give offence or offer ridicule, but it is the ethical thing to do when offering tax services to the public to ensure that they are aware of the professional qualifications of the offeror, and any limitations.
A lack of awareness that the Income Tax Act exists would seem to me to be one of those things requiring disclosure when offering tax services to the public for money.
Of course it would be different if self-preparing one's own tax return.
When you asked this question, I gave you the professsional answer of which section contained the solution in the Income Tax Act with great respect. I'm not sure I was expecting the response "Thanks for your non help!", but anyway, this thread seems to be over now.
