Does anybody have this problem? I had to reinstall Profile to update it to 2011 version. Since then, I am having so much trouble working with profile. I always get the NON RESPONDING message and I have to wait or restart. It’s really annoying and time consuming. Does anybody have any suggestions?

My V2011.1.1 has no such "Non Responding" message on my Win.XP-SP3 single PC.

We have Windows 2011 Server and Windows 7 computers with Profile version 2011.0.5 (set to Classic Database)
Has anyone with like system installed the current version?

I downloaded the complete program per instructions (used "run as administrator"), get to the "Welcome to Install Shield" and it immediately says "Default Feature Component - Catastrophic Failure". Have downloaded twice and tried numerous times with the same result. Checked the known problems - turned off the User Account Control. Nothing worked.

I never use the Updater but understand that I should be able to because I have 2011.0.5 already installed (before Christmas).
When I try it I get "Unable to complete task: specified module cannot be found"

Any words of wisdom? I've been working with this since last night and it's driving me crazy!

Thanks SPG,
I've watched the download instruction video, printed the instructions,
checked on the Known Issues but still ended up feeling like I don't know
what I'm doing and I've spent several hours doing it. Guess I'll wait and
see what profile says.

I guess if you're having trouble, I'm in good company!
It doesn't help either one of us but I feel a little less inadequate!

Yes Vivian I can confirm that installation of this software has been a disaster for me, and I am receiving errors as well.

I held off until today to upgrade from version 2010 because I was concerned that version 2011 of the software was too 'buggy' from what I had been reading, and I really needed to get some corporate year ends finished without running into software issues.

Today I downloaded the "newest" gpsetup.exe file (357,090,718 bytes) as indicated in a recent email I received. I think it is version 2011.2.0. Upon beginning the installation the software complained that I needed to install the Microsoft .NET framework 4. Then the installation package proceeded to download that and install it. After completing it prompted for a reboot and I did that. Once the computer was rebooted it started installing the software.

During the installation process I received no less than 6 DotNetInstaller errors but the thing finally installed. After completion of the installation and a further update (check for updates) it seemed like the software was functioning fine......... that was until I went into the print configuration of the 2011 T1 Options--->Form Selection--->2011 T1

That is at least one area of the software that pukes out errors on my system. I have quite a bit of software installed on my computer and the new Profile is the only thing that I am getting errors with.

Windows XP Professional SP3 all Windows updates installed.

I uninstalled the program, did a system restore, and redid the entire process from reinstalling the net framework 4 to reinstalling the software but nothing fixes this.

I am not sure what to do at this time........... at this stage I am hesitant to even keep the software. I don't even know that anyone who is actually capable of understand the Profile code and these errors even visits this site.

Here are screenshots of a few of the errors that I see.

Anyway....... my point is, you are not alone Vivian. :)

Just installing a new computer in my office, and seems like the installation of Profile went flawless... so far... just tested it by Efiling a T1013...

Is a W7 machine...

Hey SPG,

Try rerunning Proreg.exe. I was having the same errors and that was what I believe fixed it. A bunch of the modules weren't registering.

Cheers,

Dustin

Well, I had an inspiration.....
I hooked up my old Windows XP computer and used my download and it installed without a hitch.
Went back to my Windows 7 computer, needed to shut off the User Account Control, did a workstation install,
and it appears to be working. I carried forward a couple of dummies...they are there and seem to work.
I did the same thing to one other Windows 7 computer and it works also. Tomorrow I will do the rest of them.

Sorry, SPG....I haven't tried to print anything yet. I'll do that tomorrow.
I've had enough of this bloody day!

I am certainly not the one to comment on computer issues, but from what I read you folks seem to have issues on networks. We run 5 machines on XP without a server. All installations on the stand alone machines appear to be working properly.

This probably isn't much help, but I felt a need to sympathize.

I hope you get your issues resolved.

I'm a sole practitioner running XP Pro and had the dot.net 4 platform installed already as part of an earlier requirement.

For me, the renewal, install, and operation has been without issue so far. In fact it took all of about 20 minutes from payment via phone to download to install. None of your errors Snowplowguy.

So maybe it is an issue with the program communicating via a network, or something that Win7 does not like.
