I just noticed there is no BOX 28 in Profile to record entries on prior year T4A forms. Any suggestion as what box in Profile they should go in?

I'm not sure what you mean, as prior year T4A forms do not get reported on 2010 and subsequent year tax returns.
Multiple years income cannot be combined into one tax return instead of filing each year, and Employment income for line 104 for each year is reported in the year received.

I believe that the OP was referring to the issuer of the T4A using a prior year T4A instead of a current year T4A. In fact, the CRA's instructions for a current year T4A specify what to do with box 28 and Profile does have this option. Perhaps referring the OP to http://www.cra-arc.g...t4a/README.html would be better.

This also relates to new T4A's but not quite the same questions.

Because of the changes, we had some T4A income missed being reported as there arn't boxes for all types of income. There is a "Other income - line 130" box with no box # which, I assume, is where you would report all other income that is taxable. As there is no box number and no other notation (for ex. "enter all other income here"), this has cause a bit of an issue. Also, because the slips now look just like T4 slips BUT on T4 slips, the income amounts reported in the bottom section of the slip are generally already included in the income above, this is also causing a problem (this one isn't intuit's but rather CRA's but still causing an issue).

Has anyone else had this problem? Could this be changed somehow?

Thanks!

Hi Jana,

Thanks for your feedback, and I do understand your concern with how the T4A Slip was presented last year. We have updated the presentation of this slip for 2011 so that you will see all the relevant box numbers instead of having a catch-all "other income - line 130" box.

You should see these changes in an upcoming release.

Thanks,
Peter

T4A Box 130 is not a "miscellaneous" box..... there are specific guidelines on what should and should not be included on this line.

If anybody in my office was excluding T-Slip income (or any income, for that matter) because they couldn't match a box number to the software, they'd be fired in a heartbeat.

Yes, thanks for the tax lesson. All I was saying was that it is not clear in the software where to report this income and as intuit is addressing this issues in a future release, we aren't the only ones that think so.
