Is the 2011 T3 program going to be in the April 10 upgrade for Profile?
The 2011 module of ProFile T3 will not be available until January 2012 as the new 2011 version of T3 schedules is not released by CRA until late in November. However, 2011 tax rates will be implemented in the ProFile 2010 T3 module in late May or early June to prepare the 2011 year-end T3 returns using the 2010 T3 module. You will not be able to carry forward the 2010T3 return to next year using the current year T3 module but you can make a copy of the 2010 T3, modify it for filing a 2011 year-end T3 and save the 2011 T3 with a different file name. 2010 version of T3 forms is acceptable to CRA for filing 2011 year-end T3 returns.
Hope the above helps

Could you please provide detailed instructions for this manoever?
We have just transferred to Profile from Tax Prep and can't roll forward any 2010 T3 returns from Tax Prep.
I've called the support line, they say it is a known issue and they are working on it, but don't have a timeline.
We have some T3 returns that are due Feb 15.

Here is what you need to do to carry forward a 2010 Taxprep T3 File to prepare a 2011 T3 return in ProFile:
1. Make sure that your ProFile software version is 2011.2.0. You can verify this by going to "Help> About" in ProFile.
2. In ProFile click "File" and select "Carry forward" to display carry forward file dialog.
3. On this dialog in the "look in" field, browse to the location where the TaxPrep T3 files are saved,
4. In the location for "Files of type" select the files of type "2011 TaxPrep T3 (*.309, *.310)" to display the TaxPrep T3 files in the box above.
5. Select the file that you need to carry forward.
6. Click on the "Carry forward" radio button to carry forward the selected TaxPrep T3 file.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the issue when you attempt to roll forward a TaxPrep T3 return using ProFile? ProFile will carry forward TaxPrep T3 files with file extensions .309 and .310, that is {2011 TaxPrep[tm] (*.309,*.310)}. By the way "Have you updated ProFile to version 2011.2.0?"
My suggestion is that you email a copy of the TaxPrep T3 file to pas_support@intuit.com to the attention of Hardev for investigation.
Thank you.

From a previous response I understand "The 2011 module of ProFile T3 will not be available until January 2012 as the new 2011 version of T3 schedules is not released by CRA until late in November." It appears the T3 2011 is still not available as of Feb 8, 2012. Do you know when it will be available? Thx

I am running version 2011.2.0. My T3 trial license had expired. I updated my license and updated to 2011.2.0 again and it looks good. From this it seems that the update process does work properly if your license is expired (even though it says I am running 2011.2.0).....confusing....

I'm not sure who you are asking. If you are asking me, NO , I can still not roll forward 2010 T3 files from Tax Prep, but I understand this will be fixed with the next update, expected very shortly.

Hello Kathy,
As I mentioned in one of my earlier postings, please email a copy of the TaxPrep T3 file to pas_support@intuit.com to the attention of Hardev for investigation. I will try to carry forward and report back my findings.
Thank you for for your patience in the meantime.
