Intuitive Copy and Paste RAC Details not so user friendly any more ?

I have a group of about a dozen companies - call them companies A, B, C, D, etc. I have completed all company's tax returns to the point where I need to enter the information on the RAC Details pages. I open company A, and I create RAC details pages for each of the other companies in the group. For each company, I fill in all of the details, typing in every number. I then open company B at the same time and go to the RAC details pages there. In Company A, I use the Intuitive Copy command, then I go to Company B and use the Paste command. I find that all of the information for companies C, D, E, F, etc are properly entered into the RAC Details of Company B. However, I then have to enter the information for Company A into the RAC Details of Company B, line by line.
Similarly, when I use the Intuitive Copy/Paste into Company C, I then have to enter all of Company A's information in Company C, and etc for pasting to Company D, E, F, G, etc.
(Post is not long enough.. continued in first reply)

Up until two years ago, when I used Intuitive Copy from Company A and pasted to Company B, the appropriate information for Company A was pulled from the Company A return and pasted to the RAC Details of Company A in the Company B return.
This made things so much simpler, because it was then possible to roll the Paste/Copy cycles through all companies (twice) and thereby pick up all of the applicable information without having to meticulously type it into the RAC Details pages.
But, this is no longer possible, since the Intuitive Copy does not appear to pick this up from the return of the company being copied from.
Am I right, or am I missing some simple setting somewhere?
Is there a reason that this feature does not work like it did a couple of years ago? Things were so much easier when it did. There seems to be no reason for it not to work the way it used to. Any help would be appreciated. Right now I am doing things the LONG way - using the Paste, but typing company A info into each of the other 11 companies.
Thanks,

It disappeared around a year ago - I discovered this when the "roll around" that I used each year did not work when I was working on this client group a year ago.
I do not know if it disappeared because of a developer not understanding what was necessary, or because someone decided it was not necessary now that there were no longer separate Ontario returns, or because someone may have thought that users did not understand how to roll information around properly (you would have to roll the information through the group returns TWICE to ensure all information was picked up on all other returns).
Regardless of the reason, your answer does tell me that the feature is no longer available and so I will do my best to work with the (new) limitations of the software.
Um.... for development purposes... there should be a VERY easy fix for this.
The RACDetails includes one schedule for each company in the group - except the host company. Why not have the software pull the information into a RAC Details page for the host company. Then when the Intuitive Copy and Paste is performed, the host company information would flow over as well.
Easy peasy.

There is an extremely easy fix to this, IMHO.
Does anyone else use the Intuitive Copy and Paste?
I would think so, since it is essential when preparing returns for a group of companies.

All those great bells and whistles, BUT what about the ability to correctly print the return, or better yet efile the return correctly.
You sound like the bookkeeper I occasionally share a coffee with, nothing is GOOD enough.
Have a good season.

PS Yes, this is a hinderance, it has worked in the past, but really are you sure S100 added correctly?????

I did actually get an email from Intuit last year asking me if, after tax season, I might be interested in sharing some information to help them fix this feature. I never heard back.
I came back to this forum in order to see if there had been any discussion on this feature since my posting last year, and I see that there has not been any.
Replies like that from Easter1 do not make this an enjoyable place to interact.

Well, that was then and this is now (since Intuit purchased the program) the most basic issues ie adding correctly!
I get your frustration, and sorry if I offend, but whining about bells and whistles that don't work 1% of the overall function of the system when there are some major issues in the remaining 99%.
I am entitled to my opinion as you are yours, but pushing a 1% issue, when the system has trouble saving, I am getting Quebec issues when I complete an Alberta return, or farm issues when I complete a BC return - both corporate and personal.
Sorry your 1% whine.....

Hi flinflon
Welcome Aboard
I've been on this Forum for several years now and have been semi-active. I've found that it can be a good source of help when you're frustrated and exasperated trying to do something you haven't had to do for a year. We all forget how to do things, can't find things, etc....especially at this time of year and the program changes constantly. Like any other large group, some of us have less tolerance/patience than others, some have shorter fuses than others, and some are less tactful than others. The Program had its good and bad years too. And....we're all short of time.
Don't give up on the Forum......there's a lot of answers lurking in the old posts, and help for new problems. Just try not to make comments that will set off the short fuses, and I think you'll find us very helpful, over all.

If anyone from Intuit is reading this posting, I would be pleased to help! As I have mentioned, the fix should be a very easy one to implement (of course, I am not a programmer and it may be more complex than I think).
I would love to have this working smoothly when I need it again next year.
