I have used the email capability to send T1's on numerous occassions, and never an issue. Then my computer was updated to office 2000 (yes believe it or not I had '97) and also upgraded internet explorer to 8. Although I don't see how either one of these could possibly interfere with the email in Profile. But low and behold, now when I try to email a T1, you think it is going to be fine, you see the "print" screen load, then I get an ERROR message "Error sending mail(2)".

Any thoughts or suggestions? I use microsoft office outlook without any problems, and obviously internet is fine too. No settings have been changed etc.

You are probably having a conflict with the pdf reader/writer that Profile uses.

I would suggest that you call Profile support! This is a known problem with Profile.

This is a known conflict with a Windows update earlier this spring and Amyuni pdf writer packaged with Profile. Intuit is supposedly working with Amyuni and Microsoft to resolve the conflict.

Hopefully ALL will be well by next spring. (LOL)

Hi Emily,

Are you able to create PDFs through other methods? If yes, then the error your're getting is likely because ProFile is having a hard time communicating with your email program. I was able to reproduce the error on my system by opening and leaving open a new email and then trying to email a return.

Are you using Outlook as you email program?

Yes, I can create PDF when I use Caseware, and I don't think Profile is having the problem creating the pdf file, because if I click the "preview" the PDF is displayed, Profile is just for whatever not getting to the email. I am using Microsoft outlook 2003. I had been able to do this without any problems.
