I have a small business of doing tax returns for people and do not collect GST as my earnings are far below the limit. In Bc with the new HST coming in it says that people who do accounting must charge HST. I am not an accountant in any way but do they consider doing returns accounting. I have tried for weeks to speake to a real person at the BC Gove but no results. Cand anyone help me out here with this. Thanks

HST regulations will be essentially the same as those governing GST. If your gross revenue is under 30k then you will not be obligated to register. If you are preparing tax returns for clients I think you should have a better understanding of value added taxation. Do you not have self employed clients who rely on you for advice?
