Hi,
One of my client came with a letter from his employer stating that -
The following is your 2009 group insurance contribution:
Life $xxx
AD&D $xxx
LTD $xxx
Health and Dental $xxx
I'm not sure if I can claim any of above. I appreciate if someone can help here.

Probably number 4. Do your clients know that you are preparing tax returns without any previous courses or training?

Now I understand why you have a private board!
the client could likely do just as good a job by himself with a pen and cra forms
i also suspect that the employer has not issued correct t4s, so this probably needs further enquiry by a/the tax accountant

Yes I got connected and I understand why you have one. Those crapy questions don't get to the private forum. I wish we had something like that on the French side. By the way, after I wrote about getting Intuit help in the French forum, we got someone from Intuit coming by and responding to about 8 questions in 20 minutes. Since then, he vanished!
Anyway, I think I'm getting closer to Taxprep...

This is a little late but I have a number of large employers in the form of T4's from clients that either give their employees a letter like your's or don't acknowledge that these employee paid premiums for health, dental and vision care are an amount that is now suppose to be entered on the T4's in box 85. I have contacted a couple of the HR departments of these very large companies and they were not even aware that box 85 existed. In years past (more than 3 years i believe)if efiled and medical expenses were requested they accepted this letter as evidence of premiums paid. Now I'm not sure if that has changed.

Box 85 unfortunately is still optional so alternative documentation is acceptable. I,too, have contacted various employers and asked them to use Box 85. The School Board and Hospitals with custom payroll software, of course, have not implemented the new box even though there are medical expense deductions. The smaller employers, especially those with QuickBooks, can and usually do, make the change once they know about it.
