Efile error 80003

Hey Peter can you also answer Efile error questions?? "An entry for Gross Income for the SFD is nil or negative, a value of 1 is required for processing purposes" I looked at the EFILE information page, thinking I could enter a 1 somewhere there but didn't see anything. I know I have had this problem in the past and just end up paper filing the darn thing, but it has to be something simple that I am missing. Can you offer any suggestion?

Hi emilee, the value of "1" required for processing purposes gets built into the .tax file which is transmitted to CRA (it's not on the EFILE information page). ProFile handles this automatically if gross income is less than $1.00. ProFile doesn't allow for a return to be efiled if gross income is negative. So I'm not sure what's happening with your particular file. I suggest you contact our technical support and send them the file for analysis. They should be able to figure out exactly what's happening.
