We have been running it here on two Windows 7 32 bit machines, and have another 64 bit I will likely be trying it on shortly. So far no issues for us. :)
If you are upgrading get an Intel (second generation) SSD to speed up the entire experience. :)

Just spoke to sales about Windows 7 support and they do NOT currently support it and could not commit to support being in place by tax season.
As my computer desperately needs to be replaced, and Windows 7 makes sense as part of my new system, I hope I don't have any ProFile issues. Or maybe I should look at TaxPrep.
Anyone know if TaxPrep has Windows 7 support or expects to by tax season?

What was it that you did? My PDF Archive function is still not working.
I found the article to delete and reinstall the PDF printer but I can't reinstall as the .bat file isn't working.

On October 22, 2009, Microsoft® officially released the new Windows 7 desktop operating system.
Future Versions of Taxprep
As a leader in the Tax compliance market, CCH is pleased to announce that all future releases of Taxprep products will be fully compatible with Microsoft's® newest operating system.
Taxprep products that will support Windows 7 include: Corporate Taxprep 2009 v.2.0, Personal Taxprep 2009 v.1.0 and Taxprep for Trusts 2010 v.1.0.
Prior Versions of Taxprep
CCH has performed quality control tests to verify the compatibility of prior versions of Taxprep products with Windows 7. Those tests allowed us to determine that some of the prior versions of Taxprep products are not compatible with the new Microsoft Windows operating system.
However, in accordance with CCH's commitment to pursue excellence in outstanding client support, an update to make prior versions of Taxprep products compatible with the Windows 7 operating system is now available to Taxprep clients.

At this point in time we haven't tested the full functionality of ProFile in Windows 7 environment yet.
Officially we are not supporting Windows 7 at this time, but will try to assist you as much as possible with any issues that you may have with Windows 7.
Once testing is completed in that environment, then we will support Windows 7.
It is my suggestion that if you are upgrading to Windows 7 then buy at the minimum the Windows 7 Business Edition.
As for any PDF issues, please do not hesitate to contact us in support, and we will be happy to assist you.

OK, I sent off an email to support saying, "I have been unable to use the PDF archive printing in Profile since I upgraded to Vista earlier this year. I have followed the instructions on the support web pages for “Printer not activated” error code 41 and successfully delete the Profile PDF printer but the installPDF.bat only gives me an “Arguments not valid” error when I run it and allow it to run through UAC. Apparently there is a fix to this according to your community support board."
The web page says that there will be a response within 1 business day. I prefer email support to phone call support anyway.

Hi Tim,
Try this instead.
Close Profile
Go to the printers folder.. delete Profile PDF Export
Right click on the Profile Icon >Open File Location
Open the PRofile PDF Export folder
Run the INstall.exe program - I would recommend right clicking on it and running it as administrator.
This should work for you.
If it doesn't work, then let me know.
I would probably need to talk to you.
Jo

Yes, the phone is good but the support hours are wrong for where I am. So I tend to use email. Al replied with the same fix that Jo posted today and it worked.

In fact the load speed now is pretty impressive, compared to before.
I am not sure why Profile is not supporting Windows 7 yet. The Beta came out in January and the whole world started their testing then. Most companies have their new drivers out and new software issued. It seems Profile was slow out of the gate on this one, really no excuse. This is part of the industry, testing and keeping up with new OS releases.
In fact all my techs say there is less issues all round and less compatibility issues than Vista. In fact if there is a compatibility issue the work around in the short term is the Virtual Windows XP module in Windows 7.
I expect better from Profile than to be beaten by TaxPrep on this one. I brag to my clients I pay top dollar for the Top software....maybe I was wrong. I think I pay top dollar for the second best software.

I would like to know if Profile will work on windows 7 in a 64 bit enviroment. Will it, or do I need to use the XP module in windows 7?

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and the Profile pdf creator has crashed several times but is currently working.
The pdf creator for QuickBooks is not working. I understand that a Windows update has effected the Amyuni pdf creator which is used for both products and Inutit is working with Amyuni to resolve the conflict.
The 'best' solution for me was for QuickBooks is to uninstall and reinatall the FOUR versions in chronological order with full updates before proceeding to the next version. However, the pdf creator crashes again within a week so I now simply use my Adobe Professional to create my pdf invoices and statements. However, this does not automatically create the emails which the Intuit product creates when the pdf creator works properly.
If anyone knows of a better solution for the QuickBooks side, I am game.
Intuit walked me through installing the pdf creator and it still did not work. Thus, the above solution.
