With due respect Easter, T**P*** isn't a DOS product any longer. But I dislike using a product which does not integrate the various years and hate that it requires a separate install for each year, type of tax return and filing method.

I'll start but I am sure that 99.5% of the comments will be similar.

Any program that doesn't allow you any way to file the end product is quite useless and should not be consired "fully functioning". I understood T2 Basic not allowing Efile when it was not the manditory way to file. But when all we can do is Efile returns, Efiling should be included as part of the basic package.

But let's face it. The Profile team will not change their minds as they never do. They have done extensive market research (??) and have come to the conclusion that they will be able to charge another $200 for the basic program to include Efile and we will pay it. We will fuss and fume and some will threaten to leave. A few may even decide this is the year to test Visual or another product. But the majority of us will pony up more and Intuit will increase their revenues.

This is not the first time we have received less for the same price. It has become part of Profile's business model. We accept it or leave. I have used Profile since year 2 and I can honestly say I like the program. More accurately, I am comfortable with it. I know how to get my T1's and T2's done efficiently. I like the T4 program. The carryforward feature makes it a very difficult decision to use another program and re enter employee info. The T3 program is a necessary evil but works for me.

Us old timers should not be surprised anymore by the decisions being made by Profile management. They have been consistent. Poor decisions in my mind as a consumer but consistent. The majority of us choose to stay. There is no productive point in yelling and screaming. We have ample evidence that it doesn't work. This year, Management went so far as to listen to our input. I don't know the details but understand that Bert and perhaps others have made a great effort this year to have Management listen to our needs. Thany you to all those involved in trying to improve the product. Management have even attempted to impliment changes but just cannot seem to get on the same page as us - see document linking and icon changes.

It is what it is. Take it or leave. I will likely stay but I am spending more and more time reviewing other products. There will be a tipping point some time and I see that point being closer than ever before. Soon there will be one too many poor decisions by Profile Management and I too will be a "Former Profile User".

Until then, time to get ready for tax season.

Dan
