VOA Council My resignation

I have served on that Council with pleasure, though at times with exasperation.
I have met many nice, pleasant and professional people in my work on that council, but those working for Intuit as well as those in practice.
However, for a variety of factors, not least of which, that I have been just to busy to do the job justice the last few years,
I wish to resign from the council.
On the phone with Deb yesterday I have tendered such resignation, which was accepted.
Wish you all the best in the work.

I hope this does not mean you will stop passing on your experience and comments on this forum.

One less reason to stay with the DIY profile product!
Maybe it is about time we all wake up and realize there is more money on the diy side, and that is where Intuit is heading and maybe we all should be looking at other products.
Too many bells and whistles right now, I want simple correct systems.
Easter.

Intuit, is there an option to view new posts as in this forum? If so, how do I access it?
If not, I will not be a contributor on the new forum.
Or maybe I should say old US forum with a Canadian component instead of new forum.
Is the link to a Canadian only forum or will we be getting all the US postings as well?

Glad I am not the only one that has noticed this. I have been looking and not yet found a way of viewing latest post either, I also find the site clumsy and not exactly user friendly, with no spell checker either (Well not yet found)

Hi Helga,
The new Canada QuickBooks forum is now hosted off the US site, hence the new look and layout. It is part of the US Online Community. We hope to combine the community boards into one forming the Intuit Community.
The link http://community.int...ickbooks/canada does link only to the Canada Community boards. However from there, you can also navigate to the US discussion boards as well. You can also perform searches on both the US and Canada boards in one Community.
There is no option to 'view new posts' on the new boards, however you can sort by 'Latest Post' or 'Asked' column on each discussion thread to find the most recent and new posts.

Well, I guess that takes me out of the loop of contributing as I am not interested in 'finding' where I left off on my last visit. That is a waste of my time which is too precious for this.
This may have been a good economic move but not a good move for the Canadian community who have Canadian specific questions.

I have little or no interest in participating in a US based discussion forum.
To combine Canada and the US simply makes us less than 10% of the population. To continuosly have to get posts from CPAs about American products and have to spend 90% of the time filtering out useless information that does not apply to our Canadian Market is an amazing and MUCH appreciated move by Intuit. Then to compound the indignity by removing the ability to only look at new posts makes this forum just about as uselss as it could possibly become.
It appeared, in the past, that Intuit was starting to recognize that Canada had it's own accounting and taxation policies. The QuickBooks.ca website had Canadian specific addons and front ends but now we get a thousand options and very little in the way of actual help or product.
Why not leave us with the UK or Europe where at least thay have a VAT and some idea what we are talking about.

Why is there still a separate French Language QuickBooks forum with questions answered by Canadian Intuit staff???
We do not speak the same version of English that our American cousins speak and I personally find it offensive that we have to put up with color rather than colour and it really annoys me that they laugh when we say roof and about.
I think on the basis of language differences between Canadian English and American English (which even Microsoft acknowledges) we should get our separate forum back.
Let the mail accusing me of all kinds of indignities begin
Sigh and Double Sigh

I agree with everyone. Why are we 2nd class citizens? I am looking seriously this year at alternative sofware and prepared to move

Good Luck all.

I agree with Easter I have for past 10 years been addicted to both Profile & QuickBooks for accounting software. I have always loved the software but have hated the firm Intuit. But I only have a year or 2 from retirement from the profession that i am not prepared to move from Profile because of learning curve> At 71 I serve more

Like Bob, I am only a year or two from full retirement.
I am slowly winding down my business, have sold the bookkeeping and other client services and now have only about 20 T2 clients and 400 T1 clients. As these folks move, die retire my business will wind up. I will probably not change software just because of the learning curve.
Interestingly the person who bought the bulk of my business is an accountant who worked with me for a number of years. She has had it with Intuit and is migrating her clients over to Simply. She is much happier with the service she gets from Sage.
