I noticed this a while back and never bothered to make mention but ALL of the data from the Ontario MGS Schedule A gets lost on its migration over to the new Schedule 547 (which has replaced the MGS schedule).
Is it possible for this data to carryforward from the discontinued MGS schedule to Schedule 547? The aesthetics of the form may have changed but from an informational point of view the two schedules are identical.
As it currently stands the MGS data is entirely wiped clean upon carryforward.
The other question I had is what triggers the Schedules 546 or 547 to print? I can not seem to get either form to print with the return even though they are selected in the form selection area. I have tried putting a 2 in box 300 to indicate changes but the S546 still does not print. I can get the S546 to print with the F12 key (print form). If I try to F12 a schedule 547 that has more than 1 officer or director (ie 2 or more schedule 547's are in use) the software just growls at me. :)
Is it possible to have these schedules print if they are in use (ie there has been data entered on them)? Has anyone else been able to print these schedules with a return?

Hi SPG,
I'm going to look further into the carryforward issues with these forms. I don't have an answer for this at the moment, other than to say I'm seeing the same behavior that you are.
For printing you must have:
1) Year-end in 2009 - T2Info[2]
2) Ontario as the provincial jurisdiction (or MJ with allocation to ON) - T2Info.S[10]
3) Ontario entered as the incorporated jurisdiction - T2Info.S[130]
4) Annual return answered as required - T2Info.B[67]
Once these are set you should be printing the S546 with the return. The S547 will look to see if the S546 is printing and then look to see if any data has been entered on that form - you must first trigger S546.
Hope that helps.

BINGO........ I believe the problem is that #3 (Jurisdiction Incorporated) is not being carrying forward from the 2008 return........ but rather it carry's forward blank. Maybe it is because the field number has changed, as it looks like it was T2Iinfo.S[83] on last year's return. Once I change it back to Ontario on the 2009 return the schedules will print.

That is...sub-optimal to say the least. I'll make sure that is entered into our system for correction. Thanks for catching that.

Just wanted to mention a few items re: Schedule 546
Box 300 "Have there been any changes....?" needs a link from the Info page Ontario section and a diagnostic if the question is not answered
Part 4 Certification Box 450, 451, 454 - the name is filled in from the Info page - there's no room for the taxpayer to sign the form
"Retain on file. Do not submit to the CRA" appears at the bottom of the form.

Any update on linking Box 300 to the info page??
