I've tested T2 efiling on 6 of our computers, of which 4 of them are giving me the following error:

"The automated filing portion of Efile On-Line cannot work without an installed version of internet explorer 5 or greater with 128 bit encryption."

All of our machines are running internet explorer 7. Under Efile/Options, it lists the Internet Browser as 7.0.5730.13.

I've tried the profile help desk and our computer techie and they don't know what's wrong. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Does your Internet Explorer have the 128 bit encryption set? I use Google Chrome so I can't really tell you how but I know there is a High Encryption download from MicroSoft at the following address.

http://www.microsoft...it/default.mspx

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the suggestion...In Internet Explorer, I checked the about Internet Explorer from the help menu & it says 128 bit. I checked the website you noted and all of the downloads are for older versions of Internet Explorer.

does the same thing happen when you go to any other https sites?
(eg logging in to your bank)

(Also, Internet explorer 7.0.5730.13 is not the latest)

If it only fails on 4 of 6, check that all the settings in the internet options are the same.

Have you installed any Browser such as FireFox in addition to the Microsoft Internet Explorer? If yes, please make sure the default browser is set to Microsoft Internet Explorer.

If you still experience problems please call our toll-free support line at 1 800 452 9970 to get help.

My IE7-SP2 with this month's update is version 7.0.5730.11 on WinXP-SP2. What is the latest version then and where to get it? Thanks for the insight in advance.
