I am having problems with Profile on my laptop. A number of items are greyed out on the options menu:
  • Database
  • Options password...
  • Options Administration...
  • Pause Timer

The last one is fine, I have chosen not to use the timer. But, why are the other three greyed out? I don't care about the options password, but I want to use the database and I want to get into Options Administration.

If I did it right, there is an attachment of a screen shot.

Am I missing something? I want to use two options packages. One when I am home and have access to the data on my desktop computer over our local network and another one for when I am away from home and all my client data is on an encrypted partition.

I was going to index the database, and then I couldn't find anywhere to do that. Then I noticed that I didn't even have a menu option for database. I'm using the T1/TP1 basic, so I don't have access to the client explorer.

I even tried reinstalling Profile. It didn't help.

I'm being driven to distraction. Can anyone help?

TIA,
Linda

It is my understanding that "Basic" does not include access to the database feature.

Ciao!

You are quite right. I didn't realize that because I had premium until 2005. So, since the desktop computer had the license/access code for 2005 premier, I was still seeing (and using) those things, even though my current access code is for basic. I knew I had access to the client explorer, but only for 2005 and older returns.

I copied the 2005 access code to the laptop and I now have access to those features.
