Right now, I'm using the question mark to flag fields with information expected to arrive. Having a tick that would mark a simple "o/s" would be very useful.

As a bonus, add a [form] or audit tab (what ever happened to those?) that shows all of the information that's outstanding.

I use the audit mark X (CNTL-ALT-Keyboard 3) for the same purpose.

As a result, the audit tab "Issues" provides a complete list.
