Perhaps the thread on T1032 concerns should be checked by Intuit T1 developers

Perhaps I should have come back here and re-modified my post -

There did appear to be some minor annoyances with earlier editions, but now the new version approach has changed slightly...

So probably now real recognized problem issues, just some things to be aware of around the "split" issue...

There also needs to be a reference in the letter to advise clients to sign the T1032, a reference to how much was split and perhaps, if possible, the tax savings that resulted. Has anyone already created the logic in their letters and willing to share?

All I put in my letter is the amount of savings - by personalization of the letter on a case by case basis.

If I find some time, suppose I might look at automating the T1032 end of it - if so, watch this thread.

Took some time, here is my client letter with provision for T1032. You will have to enter the savings manually though. Unless someone here is really bright, and manages to automate that part....

That was very kind of you to post your client letter. It is much appreciated by me anyways. I will use the part I need. Thank you.

My letter simply has a paragraph to have the transferer and the transferee sign.

I noted Bert that your letter is strictly for EFile, whereas my letter prints for both EFile and paper returns. A one letter does everything.

I added paragraphs for the WITB also.

By the way, I use a larger typeface because I am an old fart and a lot of my clients are older and can't see the smaller type! The younger people say it is easier to read too.

Whoops, the file didn't upload.

I'll try again later. Server is being stopped for about an hour for upgrading.

Sorry, Bert, ITS ON THE FIRST LINE - (if EFILE = 0). See what I mean about old farts? I can't even see that!

Here is my letter.....finally.

Whoa!

Can't seem to upload. It takes forever, I'm stuck on the upload page for about 5 minutes and the upload circle keeps moving and doesn't stop. I'll try again later.

I have also customized my client letter to include the T1032 transfer details (spouse name, amount transferred and savings). I automated the savings notation somewhat by typing the amount saved amount in field {T1Info.S[13]} of the transferee T1 file (a field we don't otherwise use). I pull this field into the client letter.
