Good day folks,
Support is closed for the weekend, so thought I would try here for a answer.
Just upgraded my computer. Core 2 Duo processor running XP (smart enough not to go to Vista yet). I'm spending the day installing software. Have been trying to install Profile. It gets 95 % done and says c:\windows32\Greenpnt.ttf and hangs at this point. Task manager says it is not responding. Tried it with and without antivirus on. Downloaded a new file from Profile site and still the same problem.
Any ideas?

Talked to tech support this morning and everything running fine now. Once again the quality of the tech support people reminds me why I spend the extra for Profile.
Was the problem something to do with the registry of the machine?
Please give some indication of the solution, so that if an upgrade is done, users should do it while tech support is still open! (Note that Profile operates on Mountain Time!)

Yes - for some reason my computer wasn't allowing the registery entries to complete. We restarted in safe mode and installed again. I suspect the problem was on my system not with the software.
Believe me - I know they're in Mountain time - I'm in Atlantic time.

Just as a follow-up...
Some systems are affected by this when trying to register the greenpnt.ttf [Font used by ProFile] during the install. The application will 'hang' at the 95% marker and not fisnish properly.
Should this happen during your install, you may press cancel without consequence and run ProFile normally after that point. The development team has been made aware of the situation and are taking steps to correct it.

I'm glad and sad at the same time.
It took four (4) months for someone from Intuit to acknowledge this problem and I am glad that they did.
But to take 4 months! I am sad, too.
We were told last year that the large increase in cost was to pay for additional quality control!
I guess we'll keep paying more for quality control again this year, too.

As a seasonal technical support agent, I am the front line contact for a majority of these types of issues and have only recently returned for the 2007 tax season and still catching up on items here. I do try to keep on top of the forum topics when I am employeed here and volunteer my suggestions and comments even though it is never cited within the terms of my contract to do so, and found no one else in my department filling the role in this forum.
I'm willing to help answer any questions you may have from a technical standpoint.
