Client incurred legal fees in collecting a severance package from former employer. Can I include the sales tax on the legal bill in the deduction for legal expenses? Total severance received was in excess of all legal fees, disbursements and GST. No reimbursement of costs.
I could not find a yes or no in CRA publication or CCH.
Thanks.

I would think that if the person claiming the amount is not a GST registrant that the entire amount would be in the claim.
