Revenue Services of BC is sending out statements for repayments of student grant overawards with instructions saying to enter the amount on line 232 of the 2006 return.
Now that student grants are completely non taxable, should someone be allowed to deduct the repayment of a non-taxable amount against their other income?
Unless perhaps this is a repayment of amounts received in 2005, although the statement doesn't say that.
Has anyone looked into this?
