Guess I have to watch it, am getting too popular again, people sending me questions by PM:

Quote

Can you please provide direction as to how Return on Capital is handled in the calculation of determining a gain or loss on the sale of securities? I am not sure if the return on capital reduces the acb of the shares and hence the reason for guidance.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Joe

What is meant by acb?

For that matter, what is a capital gain?

Still gaving fun.

You dimwit, Dan, of course acb just means that

Adjusted cost base.

as far as capital gains, how should I know. Perhaps you should get yourself an ITA.

Must I do everything for you guys?

I'm glad you asked Joe

Return of capital means all your income goes back to Ottawa

Is that all you said in your PM reply?
Such professional restraint!

They would have received something sharper from this "Genuine Joe".... :P

I see this thread is out in the general section...

All I said in my PM reply is that I would only answer in the Forum, not by PM

Not to be confused with PMs, which Increase calls to the ACB (Annoyance Call Bureau)...

Or, since Bert is a member of the Mob, increases to the ACB (Asphalt-Concrete Base)...

Bert should be properly engaged instead, to ensure increases to his balance in the ACB (Antigua Commercial Bank)..

But dont try to call Bert in the last week of April, because he has decreased his ACB (Automatic Call Back) to zero..
- you would likely get referred instead directly to his ACB (Automated Collections Branch)...

I think that it is supposed to be ABC, also known as the alphabet. It all comes me when I sing it.
