Returns Requiring Re-Transmission
Throughout the summer months and at the end of the electronic filing program, our EFILE Help Desks are often contacted by efilers and asked about the status of returns they had previously transmitted. Many of these calls are initiated because your clients have received a request to file a return by the Agency. When we verify the files, we often see that a large percentage of them rejected initially with correctable errors, and were never re-submitted.
In an effort to reduce the frequency of such occurrences, the Tax Filer Services Section, in conjunction with the Information Technology Branch, will be generating lists of returns for re-transmission. If you are one of the affected efilers, you will be sent an email similar to the following. It will be sent to the email address that was provided when you registered on-line.
The following is a list of file(s) that have rejected with correctable error(s) and have not been re-transmitted. Please make the necessary correction(s) and re-submit. Failure to do so may result in your client(s) being contacted by the Canada Revenue Agency and asked to file a return.

We appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Returns Requiring Re-Transmission CRA Update

Spoke to a CRA Efile Help Desk Agent - the email was a sample of what to see.
It is interesting since I have taken over the tax department for another company and consequently saw the same email in the business and through my personal business. Identical. Also the dates are before tax season.
(I won't efile returns at that business since my name isn't on their list of staff nor do I have the password to update the list - They had a personnel melt-down mid-April.)

Supplemental Instruction To The Following Email
Our first mailout of lists was sent yesterday morning. We regret any confusion the email introducing this service may have caused. The displayed error clues also include those records that are not eligible for EFILE and those that require a paper return to be filed. If you have already filed those returns, please disregard the email. Chances are that those returns have not yet been keyed. Once processed, they will be removed from any subsequent mailouts.
We have also asked our Information Technology Branch to compile a separate list for returns that rejected on error clue "1", a paper return is required. These will be dispatched as a separate mailout. As previously noted, if these returns have already been filed, please disregard. Our future mail outs will include all of the reject error clues (electronic and paper).
