Hi,

I am having issues with my Profile setup.. We are using client explorer and global seetings are on Profile server. But once in a while on some workstations it keeps changing settings. They can't see customized templates which we amended like T1 Client letter or engagement letter.

Secondly, on some workstations i have setup adobe pdf as default printer and profile keep changing it to windows default printer every time user shut down profile and load it again.

Any comments / tips will be appreciated..

What I've done to prevent muddling around with the settings is to put the Profile Options Administration file in a public folder, but one that only I can write to. Same goes for the templates and such. This way you can make sure that everyone has access to the desired settings and templates (double or nothing - either they work for everyone or not at all) without worrying about some rogue fool over-writing them.

This also makes changes when needed very painless, as the settings will be updated everywhere on Profile restart.

No ideas about your printing... maybe a screen shot of your Print Setup?

In Print Setup, make sure that the tick box near the top left marked "Always use Default Windows Printer" is left unticked. If, during a session, it gets ticked, make sure that it gets unticked before closing Profile. It switches it to the default Windows printer every time I forget to untick before closing Profile. Very annoying, because then I have to set the printer for each type of form.

BTW, is there a way to edit my own posts? Or at least delete them? I'm sure there used to be.[/quote]
