it was suggested in the T1 forum to transfer Tape totals to other fields... this gave me additional ideas

Note: I assume everybody is aware of Tape options in the Environment, and also that you can GoTo Form "Tapes" and just print the form (I've used this many times - for prescriptions - I print Tapes and wrap them around and staple them shut so they don't fall out)

But, I find it cumbersome to edit, insert lines, etc. Sometimes, I get funny highlighter marks (?) Maybe whenever a tape is created, a form is also created.. like S3Details or similar.

Speaking of S3Details .. can this actually be printed?? or, strictly the results on the S3? I've kind-of been using this to carry forward my costs of new stock additions ... I get error messages trying to print.

On Donations form - you can transfer to spouse on first line. Can you transfer any form to the spouse? You should be able to. I accidentally entered TL2 on wrong spouse, would have been nice to just Form/Transfer to spouse than re-type.

Speaking of Spouse Transfer.. I like the way Profile treats i.e. T5's etc split 50/50 - it shows up as 50% on each's S4, although if you go to the T5 of the spouse, nothing - and, for ex-taxbyte users we must delete all previous years slips. That's okay .. but - why not do the same with T776 and T2124 forms that are split with spouses?

Is it me? If i have 3 T776's split 50/50 with spouse, including UCC classes, additions, .. I get T776blahblah#1, ..#2,#3 on one spouse, and T776blahblah#4,#5,#6 on the other spouse. If you hit F5 - I get error message that No form exists etc..

Okay .. but, how do you ~really~ feel, Hart?

Tired :) C-ya'll L8r

Hi Hart:

You can copy a form if you enter it on the wrong spouse (use Edit | Copy form) and paste it into the correct spouse (use Edit | paste form).

As for your business forms, if you enter the information on the first spouse and allocate a percentage to the second then you can F5 and not get additional copies. It is only when you have zero percentage allocated to the spouse that you get the message that the T776#1 does not exist. You allocate the spouses percentage near the bottom of the business forms under Details of other co-owners and partners.

Thank-you Carl!

I didn't even notice that edit/copy form command before .. muchly appreciated on that little tip! It will come in handy I'm sure.

As for the other issue, you got me thinking about this. I went back and confirmed that this only happened on files we included the spouse on the SECOND set of partnership allocation, not the first.

This is just a carryforward to profile of the way we used to do those forms in Taxbyte. It was easier to setup only the 50% spouse's share of UCC and claim 100% CCA each, as needed if needed, rather than set-up the 100% UCC balances, and claim 50/50 spousal split.

Thus, the first "details of co-owners" were blank in these instances.

So - i guess, eliminate 2 of my suggestions on this thread.
