T1 suggestion

While looking at a clients file I realized they would have a UCCB slip to arrive. A warning, based on a child of the right age listed in the dependant section, might help us make sure we are not missing a slip. ie. Similar to the CPP warning for a taxpayer over 65.

I would like to see a line on the Info Screen in the spousal section to mirror that on the T1 to designate the amount of their net income that is UCCB. This amount would then carry to the fields in calculations where that amount is deducted (GST, CTB, OTC).
Just in case we aren't also preparing that spouse's return.

ProFile...can you please confirm that this important, simple enhancement will be included in a future release?
I honestly doubt you will get anyone to give you an actual commitment on this. A few years back several great suggestions made on these forums were quickly implemented into a future release of the software.... but that seems to have died off over the last couple of years.
I had Arliss's concern a few weeks back...... especially since the RC62 slip is new for 2006..... and may be overlooked by clients (seeing as though most understand the CTB to be non-reportable handouts and discard everything except the cheque).
So...... I printed a query from my 2005 T1's of anyone that I should expect to see this RC62 slip for. I know I only have one client with 7 children..... so my query only went to 7 dependents..... but I could have kept going with the query.
Field Name: T1DependantTable[0,1] [1,1] [2,1] etc up to [6,1]
Condition: is greater than
Compare to: Date
2000/07/01
This printed query took care of most of them (exception being anyone who had a child born in 2006). I don't take new clients so don't really have to worry about that.
However, if anyone seriously wishes to be aware of who they might be looking for a RC62 slip from ..... rather than waiting around for an update to the software to remind them..... you could run a similar query on your 2005 files. It isn't going to help you with new clients...... but it will give you a heads-up on your current clients.

Although I am not a programmer I can't believe this would require much effort. How about it Intuit?
I see we have our suggestion included in the new release. A lot more thought should have went into it though. Why would the warning not be in the RC62 field when it is void of an entry and dissappearing on completion?
Edit
I notice it is only showing up for children born in 2001 or earlier. Should have been July 2000 or earlier. Good work. :(

I would agree that a little more thought should have gone into the message. it appears to be linked (incorrectly) to the dependants page; however, it should clear if you have entered the benefit.

Another by product of the asinine audit message is previoulsly completed files fail when trying to build a transmission unit even though of course there is an amount entered at the appropriate field.
