T5018'S Not Working Well

The software is assuming that only Corporations or Partnerships can have business numbers and/or business names.

Here's the homework assignment for this afternoon.http://www.guns-onli...s/cooldance.gif Lets assume you have 3 contractors that you are required to prepare T5018 slips for. Below is all the information necessary to prepare the slips.

Billy Smith (a Proprietorship)
Self employed individual - no business name
GST Registration Number: 10000 0009 RT0001
Gross Payments made to this individual $10,700.00

John's Concrete Floors (a Proprietorship)
Social Insurance Number: 527-000-004 (not registered for GST)
Gross Payments made to this firm $5,350.00

Backwards Excavation Services (a Proprietorship)
Self employed individual
GST Registration Number: 10000 0017 RT0001
Gross Payments made to this proprietorship $21,400.00

Once the information is entered, please print your slips. A perfect score will only be given to those students who were sucessfully able to have both the Recipient's name as well as the actual Recipient ID number (box 24) appear on all 3 slips.http://www.guns-onli...ies/bowdown.gif

With a little ingenuity (and wasted paper) it is actually possible to get a perfect score.

Any chance of this type of stuff being addressed by Profile in the near future?http://www.guns-onli...ilies/dunno.gif

Hi SPG,

After reading your comments I was scratching my head wondering why it was we did it that way. It wasn't until I remembered that we added magnetic media filing of these slips to FX last year that I recalled the contortions we had to do to make it work in an automated fashion. This seemed like the most intuitive manner in which to get all the relevant information into the magnetic media file properly. Unfortunately, it seems it came at the price of some flexibility.

To answer your question as to whether this will be addressed: I'll try to improve this after reviewing the Mag Media specifications for the T5018's this year. I have an idea already, but I'll have to check to be sure it will work within those spec's. Check for the changes in the 2002 version when it's released.

Sincere thanks for taking the time to give us this feedback.

Regards,

Thanks for the quick response Lee.

Glad to see others working during the "off season"(LMAO) too. Well its off to the T2 forum for me for a couple more ??? that I have saved up.

Sometimes I feel bad posting problems but this kind of forum input really tweaks the software.

Now.........if only I could convince Peter to play around with [link:www.vbulletin.com|THIS][/link] and [link:www.vbulletin.com/forum/|THIS][/link] the possibilities are almost endless. http://www.guns-onli...ilies/multi.gif
