Since you have been on big happy family with Intuit for over a year now are there any plans to allow the export of payroll information to FX from Quickbooks for T4 preparation in time for the 2002 season?

Hi Norman,

We had not considered adding this functionality yet. From what I know about QuickBooks (admittedly I'm no expert) my impression was that it was a self-contained reporting system that produces T4's on it's own.

I'm going to guess that the FX product would either make the process easier for volume preparation and/or that you were looking to import client data as your office does not use QuickBooks to produce T4's. If that is the case, we can investigate this option for a future season, as it may be too late already to implement this year.

If you have additional comments please feel free to post them here for discussion. I won't be able to personally reply for a couple weeks as I'm out of the office, but I will respond when I'm back if necessary.

Good Idea there... I would support a feature like this... (sooner the better) it would save us a bunch of time as we have been processing T4's & Summaries using FX... :)

I agree that the import would be nice. I would also like to see an import from a ASCII text file (Tab delimited). This would be helpful for those situations where we have to summarize the information in excel before preparing the T4/T5 etc. It would also be helpful for setting up new clients if you could import the employee listing with SIN number, bithdate etc.

By the way, why, why why is everyone equating a spreadsheet file solely with Excel? I may be old-fashioned (although I doubt that), but feature for feature, I still consider Lotus 123 to be the KING of spreadsheets.

The reasons I would prepare FX T4's for my QB payroll clients are:

1. Uniformity with non QB clients
2. All T4's prepared on same platform
3. Superior print options in FX
4. Makes for better practice management
5. Last but not least - magnetic media filing
