Get rid of newsbots and manually post CRA etc news

Getting newsbots to post means we get all kinds of business news and no discrimination as to what gets posted. Why do we care to see what we read in the business papaers and our favourite business news sites?
A quick glance at readership will show our huge lack of interest.
Why not concentrate STRICTLY on CRA and Finance news releases and those from the provincial tax authorities?? News can be gained directly from their sites and from news services such as Canada Newswire. It means one of the moderators must manually post news items or synopsis with a link, but that would be a REAL service. As it is, it is simply clutter on my screen

I am usually up at 7:00 AM so I am so far ahead of the rest here that it is scarey
Having said that, I am prepared to offer my sevices to posting CRA related info here if we can dump that newsbot. I have to look for the bloody stuff anyway.

I would agree, Newsbot is annoying. just fills up space and detracts from the actual questions. Currently, I have registered for the forums that I want and ignore the rest because of the clutter.
No offence to our UK members, however, I am not sure I can help them with their questions. I would suspect they should have their own forum so they do not have to sort through our postings.

John, we may take you up on your generous offer. It's tough to find good RSS news feeds that pertain to taxes and the accounting industry. I'll speak to Andy about it on Wednesday, and see if we can come up with a streamlined way of having you post snippets.
Best,
Lance

That is a great idea John....
Could you also take care of any news releases from each of the Provincial Finance Departments?
PS I think you volunteered because you are worried that I will surpass you in posts eh?
