I am a Profile Basic user and am looking at purchasing InTRA. Can anyone give me their opinion on this product? I have previously done most research by internet on the CRA site. Not sure how valuable or worth while this product would be.

I used INTRA for a couple of years, it worked fairly well, however, once your annual subscription expires it doesn't work, which annoyed me. I understood not getting updates , but to cease functioning at all pissed me off. I went back to the good old refernce books from CCH ("Preparing Your Corporate tax Retuns", etc)and prefer it. At least the print doesn't disappear each year. I've actually found that I like reading a book again instead of viewing a screen. It's also cheaper.

I bought it and, while I like the aspect of running an electronic search on the database, I have realized its limitations.

I do significant number of multi-jurisdiction returns. I need a good electronic reference into Quebec rules. InTRA is not suitable for Quebec. It is lacking in that area. So much so I am going to have to look at another product to complement InTRA. I'd like also a US rules package but to get that with the Canadian is beyond hope.

However, if you want a one year electronic reference and only one year reference to the Federal Tax System with Act and all CRA publications, it fits. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.
