I have just started having my preparers use the preparer check marks to show that they have spent some time reviewing their returns(not sure why I haven't used them before). I noticed that the preparer and partner check marks can be overlooked as the same because of the color and look a lot alike. To differentiate this could we have the option or just have them a different color. I wouldn't think I would be the only office when the prepare review and checks and then the partner reviews that and checks again.

Brent, what I've done is went to Options - Environment - Audit and changed my settings so that Audit Messages only are cleared on Partner signoff. I also have my options set to prevent filing on overrides, memos, questions marks, etc.

Your idea of different colored check marks is a good one tho'.....sometimes it's kinda hard to see if there's a little blip on the end of the check mark or not.

Ya that is what i have done also. Just I like to review every line and partner check mark is how I determine if i have reviewed it. The slight difference in appearance makes it a little more time consuming to ensure review is complete.

My setup is a little less stringent as i dont have to signoff memo's and overrides but have them set as warnings. Overrides likely should be set as prevent filing tho.

We would like to have different colours so we could tell at a glance who did the partner
review. You can check the initials but if someone else has been in the return, that does not
always work either. I've suggested this in prior years and nothing happened.
