Just an update. I spoke to many other accountants and noone else seems to be having this problem. In all, we received about 20 requests from the Winnipeg Tax Centre to submit T4's that either were not processed or they could not locate.

They were originally sent to Ottawa.

So we complied with their request and sent another copy of the T4's to WTC.

Now we are receiving second requests (computer generated). When I call them they say "yes, I see they're received, but they're still not processed so the computer is generating these automatically. There's nothing you have to do."

T4's are still not processed??

Ditto - Same problem. Two clients have had their refunds delayed until T4's were faxed in to the Winnipeg.

Did you file them electronically?

As this forum is slowly screeching to a halt.... It has been nice knowing you all, including the tossing of verbal barbs back and forth...

To all my Intuit friends (if I have any left)... been nice knowing you too.

Will miss this forum banter.

Never did make it to top poster....

I was referring to the client's T4, not the employer's. The employer in both cases was not a client for whom I would prepare T4's. In one case the employer was not a client at all.

The T4's were all mailed originally to Ottawa (about 150 sets or so in our office).

That, Jennifer, would be the reason.

Those filed electronically are processed much faster...

Well, related or unrelated but I had the similar problem with many T1013 and Business No requests sent to Winnipeg Office. Atleast 10s of 1013 never got processed and two of Business No lost. Calling CRA does not help as the typical answer is we never received it. As against, ones faxed got processed faster. There is definitely some problem with Winnipeg mail for sure.

Have known for years, and this problem has been acknowledged by certain higher up CRA types, that there is a black hole somewhere between Edmonton and Winnipeg....

That explains what happened to the T4 Summary and T4's that CRA says they didn't receive, even though they were dropped off at the mail box at Canada Place. LOL

The mail system is not working in winnipeg. T4's, T5 etc.etc. I am on the 4th. submission on some T1013's, This time I have sent them to the Director with a letter. A not so kind letter. CCRA is losing mail. and the worst part is they really don't care, "your T4's are late, penalty and interest charged"

I have also had 4 request for T4's for T1's that I completed. T4's from large company. Please provide copy of the T4. This is from Pre and Post Assessment review. Talk about a wast of time.
They have not been updated on the CRA system YET !!

CRA needs to review hiring and working practices. The main focus should be on "Working" or lack of it.

The black hole is someones shredder or bottom desk drawer.
